The people behind Landed Lab
Landed Lab is a multidisciplinary team united by a shared belief that recruitment should be fairer, more transparent and better understood. Together, those different perspectives shape everything we create.
Michael
Founder & CEO
BCom · GradDipPsych · BPsychSc (Hons)
Michael has spent more than fifteen years working in business psychology, organisational assessment and leadership development. Throughout his career, he's designed and delivered recruitment and assessment processes for organisations globally, including PwC, IBM, AstraZeneca, AXA and The Economist Group.
His own route into psychology wasn't straightforward. He failed high school, grew up in an immigrant family and worked his way through university without the opportunities many people take for granted. That experience shaped his belief that potential is everywhere, but opportunity often isn't.
As recruitment became increasingly driven by assessments and automation, he founded Landed Lab to make the knowledge behind those processes accessible to everyone. He is a member of both the British Psychological Society and the Association for Business Psychology.
“I am driven to help early-career professionals understand how recruitment assessments actually work, and use that knowledge to get the role they deserve.”
David
Head of Assessment Design
Honours in Criminology & Psychology · Psychometrist · ICF-qualified Leadership Coach
David is the creator and designer of our diagnostic instruments, driven by a deep passion for understanding human behaviour.
David holds Honours degrees in criminology and psychology, specialising as a psychometrist, and is also an ICF-qualified leadership coach.
His career began in South Africa's correctional services, supporting rehabilitation efforts, parole decisions, and helping long-term offenders find meaning. David later worked as a probation officer in the UK before moving into corporate assessment, spending many years at PwC in senior roles. A highlight of his career was being part of the team that won both the Africa and global PwC Innovation Challenge with a game-based values assessment.
“Landed Lab will help candidates navigate assessments more confidently and allow them to manage AI driven employment selection processes more fairly.”
Charlotte
Head of Operations
BA (Hons) English · Media & Cultural Studies
Charlotte brings together the operational side of Landed Lab, leading partnerships, marketing, communications and delivery to keep the business moving forward.
Her career has taken her through leadership roles across the private, public and charitable sectors before founding her own successful business. That experience gives her a practical understanding of how to turn ideas into action, build meaningful partnerships and keep ambitious projects on track.
She believes everyone deserves the opportunity to fulfil their potential, and that the right guidance at the right time can change the direction of someone's career.
“Being part of something that opens the process up, rather than keeps it closed, is the part I'm most proud of.”
Emily
Founder's Associate
BA (Hons) Liberal Arts · MSc Candidate
Emily has been part of Landed Lab's journey from the very beginning. While applying for internships and early-career roles herself, she experienced how confusing modern recruitment had become. She led campus surveys and focus groups that helped shape the platform.
“Navigating the graduate job market can feel deeply alienating. Landed Lab exists to remove opacity and empower candidates with knowledge of the process.”
Shayan
Head of Software Engineering
BSc (Hons) Computer Science · MSc Computer Science Candidate
Shayan leads the strategic and technical development of Landed Lab. Having recently navigated internships, technical interviews and early-career recruitment himself, he's passionate about building technology that makes preparation simpler, more engaging and more effective.
His goal is to create technology that supports people, not replaces them.
“I'm motivated to help build tools that make interview preparation more accessible, personalised and confidence-building for the next generation of young professionals.”
Emma Sneddon
Head of Socials & Community
BA (Hons) Fashion Management · MSc Digital Marketing
Emma leads Landed Lab's community and social presence. Having experienced the uncertainty of entering the job market herself, she creates content that helps people feel informed, supported and more confident.
She believes the best communities aren't built around products. They're built around helping people succeed.
“I am passionate about helping others feel more prepared, informed, and ready to succeed.”
